Wednesday is National Canadian Film Day, and the Vancouver International Film Festival has scheduled a day of screenings at the Vancity Theatre — six Canadian films in all — to mark the occasion.
Among the films is the new documentary Being Canadian from L.A.-based Canadian writer-director Rob Cohen, in which celebs including Rush, Kim Catttrall, Seth Rogen, Michael J. Fox and Cobie Smulders talk about what that title means. Check here for times and tickets.
Also a VIFF industry reception at the theatre, not open to the public, is to be attended by X-Files creator and Canadian film fan Chris Carter.
